Yes. Our security bollards are suitable for protecting residential driveways, parked vehicles and private parking areas, subject to the individual product specification and the proposed installation position.
If you are unsure whether this bollard is suitable for your driveway, contact Northern Bollards with a photograph and approximate width of the entrance and we can advise.
A narrow driveway may only require one correctly positioned bollard. Wider entrances will often need two or more bollards to prevent a vehicle from manoeuvring around the barrier.
The right number depends on the width of the driveway, vehicle size and where the vehicles are normally parked.
Yes. Security bollards can usually be installed into block paving, tarmac and concrete driveways.
The installation method will vary depending on the surface and what lies underneath it. Where excavation is required, we will also need to consider drainage and any underground pipes, cables or other services.
Most straightforward domestic bollard installations can be completed within the same visit.
The exact time required will depend on the number of bollards, driveway construction, access and ground conditions. Installation dates are also weather dependent as we cannot carry out the necessary groundwork in wet or rainy conditions.
Black bollards are normally kept in stock and can typically be installed within 2–5 days.
Dark grey, white and yellow finishes usually require around 7–10 days before installation.
These times are estimates and can vary depending on availability, location and weather conditions.
Yes. Black is our standard stocked finish, with dark grey, white and yellow also available on selected products.
Other colours may be available on request. Contact us if you require a specific finish.
Yes. Compatible bollards can be supplied keyed alike so that the same key operates each bollard.
This is particularly useful when two or more bollards are being installed across the same driveway or entrance. Let us know when placing your order if you would like them keyed alike.
Yes. Additional keys can be supplied for compatible bollards.
If you would like spare keys, let us know when placing your order or contact Northern Bollards.
Yes. Telescopic bollards retract into a housing beneath the driveway, so suitable drainage around the below-ground section is important.
Correct groundwork helps prevent standing water, mud and debris from collecting around the mechanism and interfering with normal operation.
Manual security bollards generally require relatively little maintenance.
Locks and moving parts should be kept clean, while leaves, grit and mud should not be allowed to build up around below-ground components. If a bollard becomes unusually stiff or difficult to operate, avoid forcing it and contact us for advice.
You can order your bollard online and pay a 50% deposit to secure your installation.
The remaining balance is payable when the installation is completed. Your order summary will show the full order value, deposit paid and remaining balance.
Yes. If you are unsure which bollard, size or number of posts would be best for your property, contact Northern Bollards before ordering.
Sending us a photograph of the driveway or installation area along with an approximate entrance width will help us recommend the most suitable option.
